favorite this post Voice Teacher for all ages! Learn to sing correctly!! (Seoul) hide this posting unhide

Established voice instructor teaching in the Seoul area. Current students consist of all genres and levels/ability: classical, KPOP, opera, pop/rock, punk, reggae, indie, funk, voice actors, teachers, electronica singers, and patients with damaged vocal instruments.

My current students are performing at various levels (Pro and Amateur), with professionals including 2 current leading K-pop singers, 2 leads in the mainstream jazz circuit, 1 internationally recognized opera/classical singer, 1 mainstream musical theatre actress, and numerous band frontmen/women in the Hongdae/Kangnam scenes, along with all levels of amateurs beginning from absolute beginner through professional.

As for me: American, Doctor of Musical Arts, Master of Music Degree in Vocal Arts Pedagogy and Opera Performance (with a concentration on vocal pedagogy/voice science) from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance from Luther College. I have taught as a music professor at universities, regularly consult with entertainment companies, and am the founder of the Camarata Music Company in Seoul (http://www.camaratamusic.com). Along with formal study in vocal pedagogy, I have also formally studied (post-grad) the physics of sound and acoustics and voice therapy. I have performed all over the US, in Europe, and Korea, in opera, oratorio, musical theater, film/television, and voice acting, including major roles in operas and musicals in New York and Los Angeles.

I teach healthy, natural, unobstructed vocal technique based on the principles of bel canto, correcting vocal faults, and teaching how to sing in a healthy, free, natural way that allows the student to also teach themselves, by teaching them to hear and "feel" the voice objectively.

Elected and recognized member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and member of National Association of Music Education (Formerly MENC), International Federation of Choral Music, Wisconsin School Music Association, Korean/American Music Society, American Choral Directors Association, and Korea Choral Directors Association, Korea Federation of Choral Music, and have been/will be a featured lecturer at numerous conferences and festivals, including the American Choral Directors Association (the largest music conference in the world) and Korea International Music Educators Association.
